Short sale / foreclosure issue. Do you live in the house?
So my colleague and I are in the same boat We are bound by our work to move to Spokane, WA. She spoke with a real estate lawyer last night and told her she must remain at home, be sold short or the bank could or would come after the owner of the difference of $. He said that the owner must live in the residence principle, since it is sold short. The same applies to a foreclosure, if you live there when he was seized. Except no Residence Life when the short sale or seized in the bank can come after us the difference. This can not be true? How Am I supposed to sell a house in a state and try to find a place to rent in another state 7 hour drive? was under the assumption that I would find a place to lease and move. Then leave my house with my realtor and the sale is expected to cut at home.
