Texas Governor's Mansion – Home Sweet Home Politics

The honcho of the country is not difficult to find, at least in theory. Everyone knows that human life leaders in Washington, DC, on Pennsylvania Avenue in a big house, very white. But where is the man in charge of Texas Direct. It is certainly not in DC, because it would conflict with their position. In fact, it would make more sense if it was Austin, the state capital, and indeed it is. It is the mansion of the governor of Texas, 1010 Colorado Street.

The Governor's Mansion has hosted both every Texas Governor since Governor Pease moved in 1856. Built in 1854 by Abner Cook, the building was designed in a neo-Greek, then People. The columns and unique details of the house are made of brick pillars and trunk Austin Bastrop County pine.

Located on the Colorado Street is south-west the State Capitol and not far from the Capitol Visitor Center and Congress Avenue. Normally, visitors can tour the mansion from 10 am to noon Monday to Thursday, if and when they make reservations in advance. Tours every 20 minutes and last for the same amount of time with the last tour begins at 11:40 am Due to the popularity of travel, it is recommended that visitors to plan well in advance by calling 512-463-5518 for reservations. However, at present it is not necessary, as now, the mansion of the governor of Texas is closed for renovations.

Power June 8, 2008, fire destroyed the mansion of the governor. The building had been closed for renovation, and many valuables she had been kidnapped before, but the fire caused considerable damage, however. Much of the white paint to cover the bricks Austin has been burnt and 29 columns standing at the front of the house were charred. It took the efforts of nearly 100 firefighters to cease fire, which could be by design. Fortunately, nobody was injured – Governor Perry and his wife were in town that day and Rescuers have all completed their work safely.

The castle is closed for new works and should reopen in 2009. Until then, the potential visitors will only view the outside, that workers are working hard to try to repair the damage. When it reopens, it is anticipated that building will have the same majesty it once did, and even the ghosts even as he said that Sam Houston and the specter of nephew former governor, who committed suicide in the construction of the shelter house. If they were displaced by fire or worse simply not seen yet to be seen. But once the building has people living longer, we can only assume that the dead come back too.

If you are Austin, stop by the Texas Governor's Mansion (or present, the surrounding terrain) and see the Texas White House.
