Top Communities strategy for housing growth in the U.S.
On August 21, 2006, the Census Bureau has published information on housing growth in the nation. The Office provided data for the period from 1 July 2004 to July 1, 2005. The data was segmented by changes the actual number of housing units, and the percentage change in housing units for a given country.
As a nation, there were approximately 124 500 000 housing units from July 1, 2005, which was an increase of 1.5% from July 1, 2004.
Listed here are the 15 counties to be added the largest number of housing units for the period. San Diego County at # 12 with 13,964 housing units added from 2004 to 2005, representing an increase 1.3% over the previous year.
1. Maricopa County, Arizona (52 203 units in the original)
2. Clark County, Nevada (35 114 units in the original)
3. Harris County, Texas (33.698 units in the original)
4. Riverside County, California (29 689 units in the original)
5. Miami-Dade County, Florida (21 375 units in the original)
6. County of Los Angeles, California (19 950 units in the original)
7.The County, Florida (19 894 units in the original)
8. San Bernardino County, California (17 032 units in the original)
9. Tarrant County, Texas (16.281 units in the original)
10. Fulton County, Georgia (15.374 units in the original)
11. Orange County, Florida (14.003 units in the original)
12. San Diego County, California (13 964 units in the original)
13. Palm Beach County, Florida (13 777 units in the original)
14. Hillsborough County, Florida (13 086 units in the original)
15. Bexar County Texas (12.333 units in the original)
The Office also provided data on the percentage change in housing units of 1 joule higher 2004-1 July 2005 for U.S. counties. The first fifteen counties were:
1. Flagler County, Florida (14.8% increase)
2. Sumter County, Florida (12.8%)
3. Pinel County, Arizona (10.2% increase)
4. Osceola County, Florida (9.5%)
5. Franklin County, Washington (up 9.4%)
6. Culpeper County, Virginia (9.3%)
7. Washington County, Utah (8.6% increase)
8. Kendall County, Illinois (8.5% increase)
9. County St. Lucie, Florida (up 8.2%)
10. Rockwall County, Texas (up 7.7%)
11. Loudoun County, Virginia (up 7.4%)
12. Paulding County, Georgia (up 7.3%)
13. Walton County, Florida (7.3%)
14. Yuba County, California (up 7.1%)
15. Fannin County, Georgia (7.1% increase)
The Census Bureau established the counties to determine which states have experienced faster growth of housing in terms of percentage Change from 2004-2005. The first fifteen Member States are:
1. Nevada (4.4% growth)
2. Arizona (3.5% growth)
3. Florida (3.1% growth)
4. Idaho (2.9% growth rate)
5. Utah (2.9% growth)
6. Georgia (2.7% growth)
7. North Carolina (2.1% growth)
8. Colorado (2.1% growth rate)
9. Texas (2.0% growth)
10. Delaware (2.0% growth)
11. SC (2.0% growth)
12. Virginia (1.9% growth rate)
13. Washington (1.7% growth)
14. Minnesota (1.7% growth)
15. Hawaii (1.7% growth)
California ranks number 19 with a growth rate of 1.4%. The rate of growth of housing in the nation a whole was 1.5%. For more information, visit the website of the Census Bureau.
