Sunny Day Real Estate on Guitar Hero?

Do you think Guitar Hero got the permission of Sunny Day Real Estate as a way to promote their reunion? I say this because I think many people who play that game might not know about this band.

I really am confused by a lot of the really non-mainstream kind of music they put in games like Guitar Hero and Rockstar. Sonic Youth, The Stooges, Lush, Sunny Day Real Estate, etc…At first, being the grumpy cynical music fan I was, I wasn’t really digging it (stick to your Fall Out Boy, Corporate America!), but a lot of people have sincerly gone out and started to listen to these bands because of it. Guitar Hero is a huge interprise, they can’t sit there and just START USING people’s music without getting the right permission, no matter how obscure they are. (but apparently there’s some infringement drama with a Kurt Cobain look-alike avatar in their latest game? Courtney Love just loves more attention)
So yeah, I’m 100% sure they got permission from them. I hope it turns a few kids onto their amazing music!
