With so many people doing online, is there a future market for real estate agents?

I am recently unemployed with 25 years of marketing and sales management. A little over a year recently got my real estate license. I tried to sell a property, while the keeping my full time job. (I had to pay the bills!) But I went into the red, almost immediately with the office expenses, etc that need more training to sell a property. I do not want to throw money if no future for me in selling real estate. I have to work for 20 years. I wonder if we are in a time when real estate agents will be eliminated? I changed my company and getting my license in question. I think it's going to cost me another $ 250.00 per course two weeks to begin. I need some advice.
