Speaking through an estate agent on the price of the house?

I plan to buy a home in Odenton, MD area and I think the house is a bit expensive for a long time been on the market [which has been on the market for over 5 months] and I wonder I could tell this woman to get the price down a bit. This seems a fair price. Offer what you think it's worth. However, it seems to be close to the sale price. The agent takes no action, presented bids from suppliers. BTW, what is a "California Closet"? I live in California and I've never heard this term HTE.
