San Miguel De Allende, an artists' colony in Mexico
Approximately four hours north-west of Mexico City, one mile above sea level, 64 blocks is a picturesque city surrounded by a typical Mexican: roosters, trucks, loud music and church bells peeled all day. The air is dry, the temperature reached 70 degrees F every day (you can start near freezing, but warm in winter, in July, you will always have a cool breeze at night) and 16,000 gringos north of the border are up to 16 percent of the city. The name of a patriot who helped in the fight for release in 1810, the city is protected by the development of strict rules that prevent foreign nursing homes, for what became a century ago.
Have you heard enough to know how want to spend your holidays here?

Abstract
Many call it the "Heart of Mexico" – With good reason. The conspirators who plotted to overthrow the country's leaders do their planning in this area.
Retirees from other countries (mainly U.S.) are about the sixth in the central city population (about 80,000). The total metro area is approximately 115,000. You can live close to the lifestyle of suburban America (drive to a mall and grocery store in a car, driving home in a garage and walk 50 meters to a refrigerator). You can also live like people do in Venice without the car and shop to a local market.
Restaurants: lunch for two under $ 10
Dinner for two people under 28 $ in Pegasus Center (near garden).
What to do?
You can take art classes at the Instituto Allende or look at selling real estate in the gold corridor "north of the city. You can take a ride in the car, bus or take a cooking class and learn some local recipes. You can even give free classes in English at the local school – the opportunity to meet some people while you're there. It's better than being in a cafe Internet. Meet the locals at the Public Library (Public Library).
DRIVING
You can fly to Mexico and then to a nearby village (QTO Queretaro or Leon BJX).
Or you can fly to Houston and then south to BJX or Qto. Before boarding the plane, book a chauffeur to pick it up – Call guided Angelica 52 415 152 6305 and ask for Mario.
Where to stay?
We tried Hacienda de las Flores. Beautiful location, sweet dog (the chubby Coquette) and friendly staff. Ask the TV room and be able to reach the morning shows on the satellite: Rooms NBC, ABC and CBS, and CNN. have basic cable. Delicious eggs for breakfast.
