What this Patriot Act and the national security document that you sign the pledge?

While watching one of the many real estate "" issue in the cable shows last week. I realized that as someone closing a home, Las Vegas BTW, had to sign a "Patriot Act" of the document in the escrow process. What is it? What gives? When no established internal security in the purchase process? And what are the consequences not to sign this document?

Interestingly enough for me to look up, and here is a basic explanation: http://www.fredlaw.com/articles/realestate/real_0305_msr_klg.html It applies to information on transactions denominated where species of $ 10,000.00 or more are underway, not something to do with real estate. Statement of transactions $ 10,000.00 or more in cash to the elder brother has taken place for decades (I knew more than my share of them when I worked in the banking sector), which extends Apparently, these information requirements, probably under the pretext of possible money laundering by terrorists. As for the consequences of not Log in to the bank when has customers refuse to sign, you or refuse surgery or send it with a statement that the client refused to sign. You do not have the option of a bank employee. And when they refuse to sign may seem suspicious and give them a reason to stick their noses into the affairs of the client.
