Alaska real estate – a good investment?
I speak from Anchorage and the surface. I thought about investing in property property of the United States for some time (I am not American) and AK seems a good place to start – I searched and found homes very nice and cheap (3 + bed. As 150K). Besides, how crisis and global recession will affect the real AK goods market? Is there a tax weaker real estate there? Is it difficult to find tenants?
Homes that are easy to sell in Alaska are at home to boot. Unless you plan to live in Alaska, I would not recommend being a landlord, because you will pay for repairs rather than you, and if you do not there to see things that you may end up with tenants who are damaging your home. Recession affecting Alaska. The rules in real estate are the same everywhere. Try to buy something that is undervalued. Location is everything. Being able to make payments if the house must be empty because you can not find tenants. To learn what you need to know, call the offices of the anchor housing, call the Department of Economic Development State of Alaska and ask for statistics on housing supply (from unrented rent, houses are no longer sold), and call the Alaska Department of Labor for information on local jobs and the economy do. Call of the Municipality of Anchorage for information about property taxes. A house at low price may be a bargain, or it may be in a very wrong with crack houses, and not near good schools or shopping. You want to come to Anchorage and asking many questions before spending your money. Good luck in your business. I hope you will find something somewhere.
