Attorney Greg D. Peterson, known for his role in raising sheep and complex projects to brownfield redevelopment across New England, became a member of Tarlow, Breed, Hart & Rodgers, PC Boston, MA.
Peterson, who was the last member of the global firm DLA Piper also was formerly affiliated with Hill & Barlow. His legal practice focuses on five key areas: the Environmental Impact Review and permits, purchase and sale of properties brownfields redevelopment and hazardous materials response advice, use complex goods, development and structuring and negotiating agreements and the closure of commercial real estate law and lending.

Peterson has extensive experience in the private and nonprofit and has received praise from many quarters. He is a co-winner of the Public Relations Department, 2005 Massachusetts Chapter of NAIOP (real estate Trade Development Forum) to the work produced by the superposition of the Zoning and Smart Growth law school funding (MGL Chapter 40R and 40 S) and its implementing regulations. Encourage smart growth principles well-planned development that protects open spaces and farmland, revitalizes communities, keeps housing affordable and provides more transportation options. Also was recognized by NAIOP for its role in the development and working towards the adoption of the law authorizing accelerated in 2006 and Restoration Act Coastal Estuaries exemption licenses in 2007.
Cited repeatedly in the Best Lawyers in America, Peterson has provided legal advice on the environment in many prestigious projects including Kendall Square, 10 mixed acre use redevelopment in a highly contaminated site adjacent to the former manufactured gas plant that won MIT EPA's 2006 Phoenix Award for best brownfield redevelopment in the United States. He also played in the progress of the liquidation MEPA for the construction of the Langwood House of Commons, mixed-use residential and rehabilitation offices in Stoneham, Mass., which had been mired in a decade the environmental review process. Peterson has also accelerated Edgewood, the first major 40R Smart Growth project brought to market in Massachusetts, a residential complex comprising 400 units of apartments in a part of an old public hospital property in North Reading, MA.
Peterson, who received his BA cum laude, Magna and Phi Beta Kappa at Columbia University and his JD cum laude from Harvard Law School, is a member of the Bar Massachusetts. He is a member of the National Board of Directors and as NAIOP Massachusetts, Co-Chair of the Committee NAIOP growth. There is also a member of Bar Association of Boston and is a former president of the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts.
Peterson, a native of Montana, is a resident of Carlisle, Mass., where he served actively in a number of capacities with age. He is currently head of the city of Carlisle Affordable Housing Trust, a past manager of the Carlisle Conservation Foundation and a member and former elected first President of the Planning Council of Carlisle. Peterson is also recipient of the 1999 edition environmentalist of the year in the city of Carlisle. Greg is active in open space and agricultural conservation.
