Can details be changed after we’ve received mortgage offer?
Myself and my girlfriend have recently applied for an Alliance & Leicester mortgage via a mortgage broker. We have had a mortgage offer which we were very happy about, however we’ve been sent an illustration in the post and there are two issues:
1. My girlfriend’s surname is spelled incorrectly.
2. The higher lending charge (about £2,500 as we are borrowing more than 90% of the property value) has not been added to the mortgage as requested. We don’t have the cash to pay this up front.
I understand that the rate we have agreed with Alliance & Leicester is no longer on offer, so we can’t just start again. Is it possible to change these details now we’ve had the offer or do we have a problem?
Thanks.
Please remember, you are the customer. They do not want you to walk away – you’re gonna be paying shedloads of interest for years to come. Go back and get then to change it to what was agreed.
