People who have done small weddings please read! Or anyone with good ideas!?
Well, we were planning on this big, elaborate wedding with 200+ guests at first. Well we started figuring up all the costs and realized that we should just put most of that money for the wedding towards a down payment for the new home and furnishings. Which we absolutely think is a much smarter idea. So to keep our mortgage payment down and avoid bankruptcy (lol) we are cutting the wedding cost waaayyy down and the parents and ourselves will be devoting the “wedding money” to a home. So how can we do this inexpensive but classy? We also decided to invite only close family and friends and not have any bridal party, except for one best man and maid of honor. As for a reception, we might have a catered dinner somewhere very nice, but no reception. Instead we will go out of town for a few days just to get away. We plan on the actual honeymoon for Summer of 2009 or so! So my actual question is ideas for the ceremony! Thanks everyone!
A garden wedding is very classy and can be a very thrifty choice, especially if you know someone with a lovely garden! You can pay for an officiant, get friends to cater (you could just do finger sandwiches and tea- a very classy and cheap alternative to a cocktail hour).

Stukk in the Burbs: A Novel of Mystery and Mortgage Payments from Prof. Richard Stukk, Suburban P.I. $24.81 Richard Stukk is a full-time English professor at the College of the Living Dead (otherwise known as Copequa Community College) and a part-time private eye. Born a curmudgeon and raised paranoid in New York City, he now finds himself with an overly needy house, an overly sensitive wife, and an overly used red pen. For extra cash, he becomes a suburban Sherlock taking on house-burgling landscapers, neighbor-shadowing neighbors, motorhead Gen-X druggies, and a corrupt county councilman who has got himself missing, if not murdered. All this, while fending off a cop brother-in-law, a petulant mower, and a hot colleague with her commas and curves in all the right places. Not to mention, working towards his ultimate goal–to bring down the mysterious and licentious Professor Rex Bonet (aka "King Bone"), the Moriarity of the English Department. Assaulted? Confused? So is he. Only you’re just reading this and he’s "Stukk in the Burbs." "Stukk in the Burbs: A Novel of Mystery and Mortgage Payments from Professor Richard Stukk, Suburban P.I." is a comedy of errors, both grammatical and criminal, in the land of dying lawns and stone dead literacy. |
