What can I do to protect my home?

I recently split up with my partner. We have a joint mortgage together and our house is now on the market. To make things easier, I decided to leave during their stay in the house. We changed the mortgage interest only. I need to get some form of written agreement that they will continue to keep the house on the market? Also we agreed that I leave to make it easier for everyone and that when the house sells I'm still entitled to half of everything? Is a written agreement ok us or does this need to be assisted or prepared by a lawyer? Does anyone know of any models I could use to write the document myself?
