Bought house, no contract to say it is mine?

I have just moved into my new house 3 weeks ago and received a solicitors bill stating fees etc for property. i have not received anything else to say the property is mine. I have been told the deeds go to alliance and leicester as they gave me my mortgage. Am i meant to receive something to state the house is officially mine? It is my first step on the ladder so i dont have a clue about these things!
I am from the uk!!
I am from the uk!! The UK and ireland bit after yahoo would give that away!

You must have signed a contract to purchase the property – otherwise the Alliance wouldn’t have released the money! Therefore you own the house. The Alliance keeps the deeds until you repay the mortgage as the loan is secured against the property and they don’t want you selling it without their knowledge. You will be registered at the Land registry as the owner of the property.
