How do I implement Google maps with IDX?

I have been seeing real estate sites with Google maps integrated with IDX. See http://idx.diversesolutions.com/account/590/4 as an example. Is this a service Google offers? If so, where can I go to get it myself? If not, is it custom programming? If so, again, where can I get more info?

You can program this yourself using the Google Maps API, which is available at http://code.google.com

However, the API requires you to have extensive AJAX programming experience to do this; Google doesn’t sell the service, you need to find someone who can program it.

The application you note is fairly complicated because it is a true database-driven AJAX solution. While doing what they have done is not difficult provided you have the right kind of data organized properly in a database, it does require better-than-average Web programming skills to do what was done there.

I’d suspect you might be able to get what they have there for as little as $1,200 but would prepare to spend $3,000 or so, as it looks like about 3-5 days worth of work to do.
