Time travel. Welcome to 2010 North in Minneapolis

The year is 2010. I'm standing on the corner of Avenue Glenwood and Pennsylvania. From Minneapolis North has undergone a transformation and continues to change.

The new stadium for the Minnesota Twins in progress with city officials proud of their achievements. You can ride the light rail from downtown Minneapolis to Broadway and Fremont. national franchises have opened along the base of companies entertainment, of Plymouth, the Broadway and Glenwood avenues. Small local businesses have been expelled because of lack of dollars to compete with national giants. The community has also changed. North Minneapolis is now a white, Hispanic / Latino and Asian-American axis with the growing number of Somali residents move in.

The black community has been the bane of leaders who promised jobs, economic development and improve the condition African-Americans, but has not been reached. The district only non-profit organization that has been effective is the Harrison Neighborhood Association. AST has negotiated a successful training work with the city of Minneapolis and national business franchise opened Glenwood Avenue to recruit residents of Harrison, who finished the program through the AST. Northern Marketing Working Group has made no effort in the organization of businesses, individuals and media towards its original mission.

The original residents living in north Minneapolis, which is poor, black and unemployed have moved Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Anoka, Apple Valley and through a series of programs and Section 8 vouchers. People who lived in north Minneapolis, can not afford to live there.

The University of Minnesota research and extension of the urban center (UROC) has opened offices around the league Minneapolis Urban and moved black employees of the U of M campus in North office. Northside UROC and the University of Minnesota Partnership has done little to create economic incentives for the North Minneapolis has focused only on the flavor of the week (ie seizures housing, homelessness, lost kittens, etc..) U of M has found that organizations that have partnered with at the beginning, not the funds to complete a cut "nails."

White America and local charitable foundations have decided to oppose the North Minneapolis "Black Celebration" closed and grants for programs for those without dollars are delivered to the street to create independence and wealth for the poor in the north of Minneapolis. When these leaders (called) was made public complaints that the white man has stopped funding their organizations, "a" New Breed "and" New Guard "of black men stepped to the plate (young and old), warm and diplomatically tell these" CN "over time, they are the reason that the North Minneapolis that the capacity was never built. With this happening, General Mills has decided to open a factory that manufactures bags and boxes, General Mills products in North Minneapolis. It is fair, poor, ethnic minority children are given vouchers to purchase WIC GM products, GM should have acted 15 years ago, but business means business, and if the weather is not good – you do not beat me!

This "new race "of black men appear to be professionals who are" based on the community "who have friends and family and do business in America North Minneapolis. These men were disgusted with the process and understand what it would take to build a better North Minneapolis. They began a process of "new dialogue", speaking with local banks, businesses and other ethnic groups to create change in the perception of North Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Urban League has opened more programs and has done community outreach and healing of one of them a mission. The MUL primary school has exceeded all local school systems with high test scores in Minnesota. (There is a waiting list of more than 2,000 Children seeking admission to school). As the city of Minneapolis has not cooperated with the mission and goals of the Minneapolis Urban League, in a row in the same way – the MUL has used the power of the pen and the media to keep the city of Minneapolis, Minneapolis Public School Systems and any person who denies the capacity building of the poor in north Minneapolis account – even from the point of press conferences to deliver the facts on public what the nature of problems and, more importantly, how to solve them.

Conventional television stations WCCO, KARE, KMSP, KSTP TPT and 2 -, have decided that the coverage of North Minneapolis in a positive light is good, the ability to display the great team Minneapolis North instead emphasize that murder and violence. This happened only because of the increasing number of white residents entering the north of Minneapolis. However, KMSP-Channel 9 and other stations have a story or visit the Minneapolis Urban League primary or secondary school and always chooses to operate in the suburbs.

Mortgage crisis and housing has never been a crisis but another control by us, citizens of the State of Minnesota to keep the governor and officials of the Act their shares. A political science student at the University of St. Thomas has done research and found that the amount of dollars that the State of Minnesota and county and local academic institutions received to address the housing crisis locking was used to recruit persons who worked programs for mortgage companies, banks, to advise them, because they were experts in the field. "John students" have also got to know, the postcode of most affected, 55,411 have been released from the crisis in the 4th quarter of 2008, when 700 homes were in foreclosure will receive $ 20,000 per family to help owners recover. The amount required for homeowners in the form a grant would be used up to 14 million 100 million invested and spent "to solve the problem. Again, we very wasteful.

That will never happen in Edina.

This commentary intended to alert the community about what is happening – act now will change the future. My name is portal, I'm back to 2008.
