our apartment building is up for foreclosure sheriff sale.landlord turn one apartment lights off.?

he is threatening to turn off all elec,water,&trash removal if we don’t pay him rent.since he longer own the building,what do we do to keep our utilities that included in our rent on?everyone is putting their rent in escrow account at their bank.in case we are told by the city to move immediately.

According to you he DOES own it. He is entitled to the rent until after the sale takes place. No one has a legal right to withhold rent.

The city will not force you to move, although you will owe for the late fees on your unpaid rent, since the withholding is illegal.

Whoever organized this may face a huge lawsuit, he can be blamed for the foreclosure as he caused a huge amount of funds to be illegally withheld, funds needed to pay the mortgage. I would hope that they get some time behind bars as well, that was despicable.

Banks are not allowed to evict apartment dwellers after foreclosure, they HAVE to hire a property manager, who will collect rent on the banks behalf.
