Why isn’t Countrywide a Participating Lender for Hope 4 Homeowners Program H4H?

My wife and I have recently secured new work with less pay being that were both laid off at separate times. I am about 2 months behind on my 30yr fixed 6.75 interest mortgage. I recently did some research and found out there is a new program Bush signed back in October and in November HUD put the guidelines together for it. During many of my desperate calls to Countrywide (Home Retention Dept) they claim the program is not available because HUD/FHA hasn’t approved the guidelines. After no results I called HUD directly, per a representative they have seen a large amount of Countrywide customers being told the same thing. HUD has done there part. My complaint was logged about Countrywide/ Bank of America.

I clicked on your link you posted, I seen were HUD has list of lenders that are participating as of last Friday. Its odd, how the nations biggest lender Countrywide or Bank of America isn’t on that list.
