Rental and a seizure?
I rent a house in California and only now, when I returned I saw a paper on the door saying that the eviction process has begun and the property will be sold this month. I do not know what the owner did not answer my calls and I just pay rent. What will happen? I signed a lease for one year and expires on March 09. Please help me to any information.
First, if you pay your rent by check – stop payment immediately. Its former owner does not the property and you should not hire that person. I suggest calling the phone number in the documentation on your door and explain the situation. (PS – rental of any security deposit or last month you paid the previous owner – consider it gone.) Things are changing with foreclosed properties and can find the bench owner can work with you to stay in the house and continue paying the rent. I saw it happen, but God knows, you can try. You can try to negotiate a "key box" with the bank owner. It will compensate for the lost security deposit. I suppose that depends on the amount, but I saw the amount of $ 1,000 and $ 1,500 are offered in Texas. In "keys cash, you have 2 to 3 weeks to go and leave the premises in good condition. Accessories can be removed and to be "broom clean". An agent bank owner Will Walk-Through with you and hand the check. If this is not an option, there is an eviction process – usually takes 30 days. Must be a way for you to plead their cause. The judge may be sympathetic. For example, since they lost their deposit (last month's rent), has no money to pay a deposit to rent a house. It is possible that the judge may give more time before to move. I had one experience where the occupants were able to delay the transfer of several months. (I think it was 3 to 4 months). Good luck, sorry for your problems.
