bankruptcy mortgage bill 2009
Why should I care GMAC $ 300 fee after my bankruptcy?

I filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy in November 2008. I received my account GMAC Mortgage in February 2009 and there was an extra $ 300 on my bill under 'Other fees and charges. I was told by GMAC, when I called they could not discuss these charges with me and I need to call their lawyer. I called twice by their counsel and e-mail once, without any return calls or emails. Does anyone have experience with this kind of GMAC and received answers from them? Could these charges have nothing to do with the fact that I filed Chapter 13? I think these charges are unfair since my payment plan chapter 13 states very clearly that I will continue my mortgage in accordance with the original mortgage contract. Who is here? Please advise me.

It is likely that they are correct. Seeing that you have filed bankruptcy, the legal fee Costs are likely to have an attorney review your loan with them and your application of bankruptcy. Even if you have agreed to continue paying the loan that you did before, they still have to consult with someone who handles bankruptcy law. So they probably did not need to give you an explanation, but I think having someone in your legal case consult. Good luck!
